Jeanne Park: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Jeanne Park is 16 years old, and lives in Sammamish Washington. She has been a classically trained violinist since the age of four, learning previously from Jan Coleman and currently with Simon James, and a music composer since the age of ten from Sharon Van Valin. Jeanne had her first orchestral debut with the Orchestra Europa Musica in Italy, performing with the Evergreen Philharmonic Orchestra as the Concerto Competition winner, and was selected as a finalist from NOCCO Concerto Competition and the Seattle Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. She has received top awards at many violin competitions, including the State winner of the WMEA Solo and Ensembles Competition, Charleston Romantic Competition, the Enkor International Competition, and being a three-time winner of the Simon-Fiset String Competition and a recipient of the Jean Kanter Memorial Trophy. She has performed in masterclasses with Ray Chen, Mimi Zweig, Ann Setzer, Keng-Yuen Tseng, William van der Sloot and Chloé Kiffer. Last summer, she attended the Heifetz International Music Institute and Music Fest Perugia Italy and she will attend the Bowdoin International Music Festival, Northwestern Summer Violin Institute and Vivace International Music festival this summer. Jeanne is also an internationally recognized composer, having placed at many composition competitions including the Robert Avalon International Composers Competition, the National Guild of Piano Teachers International Composition Contest, the Tribeca New Music Young Composers Competition, the National NFMC Junior Composers Contest, the SMTA Marsha Wright Commissioned Award, and the WSMTA Young Composers Project. She has participated in the Seattle Symphony ’s Merriman-Ross Family Young Composers Workshop for the past three years and her compositions have been premiered by Seattle Symphony. She was also filmed and interviewed for a documentary feature titled the “Five Young Composers” which was broadcasted in 2023 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the workshop. Outside of violin and composing, Jeanne enjoys playing ensemble music, cooking and playing pickleball with her friends.
